Hi! I’m Stef, a certified Holistic Health Coach that recently moved from Switzerland to Sydney to follow my passion for health and fitness. Don’t let the appearance fool you, I’ve not always been so healthy…In fact, a couple of years ago I was living a very junk-food-filled unhappy life.
When I was 16, I developed an eating disorder and dealt both with anorexia, bulimia and all the blurry grey areas in between in the years to come. I was self – destructive, I was treating my body in the worst ways possible and I was one unhappy camper.
Eventually I had an “aha moment” that made me realise that I was living a double life and that I had been lying not only to family and friends, but worse, to myself. Enough was enough and I knew that something needed to change. This wake – up call encouraged me to make a total lifestyle upgrade, inside and out. It was an online workshop led by a fellow ED soldier that sparked my long but oh-so-worthy journey of self-discovery.
Initially, I was only working on my mental wellbeing. The goal was to overcome my emotional issues with eating and revert back to a « normal » diet. But I soon realized that this wasn’t quite the right path for me and that food would remain to play a major role in my life. I started educating myself on a wholesome, plant-based diet and became more and more intrigued. I slowly learnt to love and nurture my body through food, instead of numbing my emotions through eating. It has been the most amazing journey and I am astonished every day by the remarkable effect food has on our bodies, both physically and mentally.
I have always been very active, but during my eating disorder phase I was working out with the sole purpose of being skinny. It has taken me a while to step away from my past body ideal and to love my body for what it is. I can now say that I have rediscovered the joy in fitness and that I am working out for the right reasons. I am enjoying every day in which I get to push myself to be the fittest, strongest and healthiest version of myself.
The more I progress on this wonderful holistic lifestyle journey, the more I want to share it with others and show how unbelievably exciting and rewarding it can be. I started this blog to support others in finding their own health equilibrium through my experiences, education, lifestyle tips and delicious recipes.
