Exploring The Sunshine Coast One Café, Beach and Mountain At A Time

After last week's post where I talked about the power of surrounding yourself with like-minded people, I only have one thing left to say for this post: I absolutely love love freaking love this chica. She's the salt to my pepper, the peanut butter to my celery stick, the yin to my yang. Too much? Sorry... But the truth is that she 100% get's me, supports me and pushes me to dream bigger and better. When we're together, we talk about all the things that we want to do in life, the things that we want to achieve, the places that we want to visit and the new things that we want to explore. I'm so happy that she's now finally in Australia as well and that we can see each other from time to time, even though she's on the Sunshine Coast and I'm in Sydney.

This first Aussie-reunion was the ultimate #bestieweekend and of course it included lots of picture-taking, working out and....you guessed it....eating!

Exploring The Sunshine Coast

Exploring the Sunshine Coast: activities

I was blown away by the beauty and chilled atmosphere of the Sunshine Coast. Pristine beaches, warm weather, chilled out vibes and the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Can someone explain to me why the sun here is so magical!? From what I've been told, the Sunshine Coast has always been a haven for the health conscious, seeking out sunshine, nature and relaxation away from the city life, and I can certainly see why.

We woke up between 4:45 - 5:30am every morning to watch the sunrise. OH. SO. WORTH. IT. The first morning we went to Break Free Alexandra beach which is right where Vic lives, the 2nd day we went for an early morning hike in the dark to watch the sunrise from Mount Coloom and the last day we drove all the way to Noosa National Park to be there for when the sun goes up. In Noosa, as the sun was just starting to peek out from the horizon, we spotted a whale fin in the distance so we ran up to the edge of the cliff where we could see it well. It only came up a couple times, but together with the sunrise it was truly one spectacular moment (oh did I mention there were dolphins as well, such a picture perfect moment!)

We also went for strolls along the beach, did a long coastal walk and SUP in Noosa, visited Vic's local farmer market and sat in cafés for endless hours working and helping each other with blog stuff. There's plenty more hikes that we would have liked to do as well, but I guess I'll have to save those for next time.

Exploring the Sunshine Coast: food

When Vic and I get together we always have a crazy schedule of running around at stupids hours of the morning, talking non-stop and doing a gazillion different things at once. Remember our trip to Berlin? That's what I'm talking about. Most likely you will also see us with a tripod, two cameras, two laptops and a whole set of gym gear. We end up doing so much throughout the day that we are always starving by meal time. Thank god there's so many healthy options in Australia! Here's a list of some of the places we checked out:

The Velo Project: 19 Careela Street, Mooloolaba. QLD | We had the smashed avo on toast and roasted carrot hummus for food and Passion Chiller smoothie and #3 juice for refreshments.

Acai Brothers: 1/3 River Esplanade, Mooloolaba, QLD | We had the Choc "Treat To Self" Bowl and the Ain't Nothin' Butter Bowl, but there's heaps of choices and you can even create your own mix.

Jimmy Foxx: 7/203 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD | Not that many vegan options, but definitely worth it for their coconut black rice brekky bowl or veggies with halloumi cheese on sourdough bread.

Blended Health Bar: Shop 4, 18 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads, QLD | For dairy free or vegan smoothies, blended bowls and ice cream

Fisherman's Road Market

Cafe Nurcha: Coastal Wellbeing Centre, 32 Wises Road, Maroochydore, QLD | We had the Pesto Turkish and the gluten-free hearty tackos which were absolutely mouth-watering and perfect if you're hungry

Of course a #vicandstef reunion wouldn't be complete without a messy vlog to go with it, so check out the video below!
